Our Braces Treatments in Eastbourne

When choosing braces, we know that variety and choice is extremely important. That’s why we offer braces that match everyone’s desires and requirements. From adult braces to children’s braces, from invisible braces to fixed braces, we’re sure to a design to match your needs.

Choosing braces isn’t just about aesthetics, however. Different braces serve different functions – of course, all serve to straighten teeth – however, the degree of control varies within each treatment and this is an important factor to consider.

For example, patients may be slightly self-conscious about having braces and may therefore opt for Invisalign as the aligners are far less invasive and they’re removable, in comparison to fixed braces which can only be removed by an orthodontist. Although, while Invisalign is a good choice for this reason, fixed braces offer a far greater degree of control and they’re more effective in solving complex tooth issues.

While both offer exceptional results, you as the patient have the final say over what option will best suit your personal needs. This is why it’s important we talk through your options and desires to come to a solution that’s practical and pleases you.

Ask Questions!

The consultation is used to discover what you’d like to achieve with us. Here, you will be able to voice any questions or concerns regarding your braces and talk through the options available to you. Our resident orthodontist Iain Hoeltschi will also be present to answer any questions you may have. He will also advise on the treatment best suited for you if you’re unsure.

Our team are dedicated to helping you choose braces that are both appropriate for tooth development and that you feel comfortable wearing them.

If you’d like more information on the treatments we offer, please see below:

Invisalign

As briefly mentioned previously, Invisalign is ideal for those looking for a more discrete approach to braces. They are made up of two removable aligners that need to be cleaned regularly and removed during meals to avoid staining. They’re known as ‘invisible’ braces due to their transparent design. They are particularly popular among teenagers who are looking to adopt a discrete braces treatment. While they have not been around for as long as fixed braces, they produce consistent results.

Fixed Braces

Fixed braces offer an exceptional degree of control, which is why they have remained in orthodontic practices for so long. If you are not bothered or concerned with aesthetics, fixed braces may be the choice for you. Fixed braces are usually worn for 2 years (on average) and simple brushing and flossing is all that’s required to keep them clean. Regular check-ups are required to ensure your teeth are developing healthily.

Lingual Braces

If you’re looking to adopt the control of fixed braces with the discreteness of Invisalign, lingual braces may be the choice for you. Positioned and fixed to the back of your teeth, they are hidden and offer a fantastic degree of control.

Early Treatment

We understand that early treatment may be daunting for children but it is thoroughly recommended that your child visits and orthodontic and/or dentist between the ages of 6-10.

It may be that there are no visible or immediate issues, but a check-up will ensure nothing is out of the ordinary. An orthodontist will be able to tell immediately if there are any glaring issues, or problems that may develop over time. Both of which will promote healthy tooth growth and may even help you avoid expensive treatment further down the line.

Teen Treatment

Teen treatment is becoming more popular, especially with regards to Invisalign. We know that some teenagers may be skeptical about braces, that’s why we take time explaining the options available and coming to a treatment plan that will please both parties.

Getting braces as a teenager should be seen as an exciting step to healthier teeth!

Adult Treatment

Many people are still under the impression that

braces have a certain age restriction – this is not the case! Braces are available to anyone and everyone, all that is required is a consultation to find out what treatment is best for you.

Some of our adult patients opt for Invisalign as they’d prefer to keep their braces low profile and Invisalign is perfect for this. However, speaking with a professional will help with your choice.
