Why clear aligners are becoming more expensive

In July 2026, HMRC won a legal case against Align Technology – the company behind Invisalign – which ruled that clear aligners don’t meet the legal definition of a dental prosthesis. As a result, all clear aligners are no longer VAT-exempt and will be subject to standard rate VAT from next month. This change applies to the aligners themselves – your clinical care is unaffected.

We’ve taken the decision to hold our prices until January 2027, so if you’ve been thinking about treatment, there’s still time to get a quote at the current rate. Your quote will be valid until the end of the year, giving you time to make your decision without any pressure.
