From the moment you arrive, we want you and your child to feel comfortable. Our experienced reception team will greet you, and you’ll then meet your specialist orthodontist.

If your child feels nervous, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re very experienced with anxious patients and will do everything we can to help them feel calm and supported.

A gentle assessment with a specialist orthodontist

Your consultation will be carried out by one of our registered orthodontists – Dr Iain Hoeltschi or Dr Sarah Grieve – both of whom have completed specialist training in straightening teeth and aligning jaws.

They’ll gently examine your child’s teeth, bite and facial profile. There’s no discomfort involved, and we’ll explain everything clearly as we go. The aim is to identify any issues and recommend the best approach for your child’s unique smile.

NHS and private options explained

There are two ways to access orthodontic care for under-18s:

NHS referral via your dentist

If your child has been referred by a general dentist, we’ll assess them to see if they meet the criteria for NHS braces. If they do, they’ll be added to our NHS waiting list. Due to high demand, there may be a wait for NHS assessments and for treatment to begin.

Private consultation

Alternatively, you can book a private consultation with us directly for £99. This includes a full NHS assessment and a personalised quote for private treatment options. If your child is eligible for NHS care, you can decide whether to join the NHS waiting list or start private treatment straight away.

No pressure – just clear, honest advice

If you book a private consultation, we’ll guide you through all the available treatment options, from fixed braces to discreet aligners. You’ll also meet your dedicated treatment coordinator, who will talk you through the next steps, costs and payment options – including interest-free finance to help spread the cost, if you choose to go private.

There’s no pressure to decide on the day, and we’re always here to answer any questions after your visit.
